Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research allocated grant to representative of Institute of Nature Management of NAS of Belarus for collaboration establishment

The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) announced recipients of grants for guest scientists in 2019. Three grants were awarded in 2019 thanks to additional support of Switzerland and India. One of the grant recipients was Sergei Kakareka, Head of the Transboundary Pollution Laboratory of the Institute of Nature Management of the NAS of Belarus, Doctor of Technical Sciences.

The grant covers a visit to the Antarctic Research Centre of the Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. The visit is aimed at creation of collaboration potential for researched directly related to the research interest subject and SCAR programs. The main purpose of the grant program is to develop long-term communication and partner relations, which can contribute to a progress in the Antarctic Research.
