On January 30, 2020, the NAS of Belarus and Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation, CJSC signed a Cooperation Agreement. Vladimir Gusakov, the Chairman of the Presidium of NAS of Belarus, and Daniil Uritsky, the director of Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation (BNBC) affixed their signatures on the Agreement.

According to the document, the parties agreed to cooperate in a wide range of activities, including joint researches, methodological support for activities of the NAS of Belarus and BNBC, use of material and technical facilities (test laboratories) of the NAS of Belarus and BNBC for scientific researches, participation in scientific and technical seminars, conferences and exhibitions. The Agreement also covers a program aimed at improved quality of training and qualification of BNBC specialists by leading relevant organizations of the NAS of Belarus, counselling assistance by organizations of the NAS of Belarus, as well as assistance in receiving patents for the products manufactured by BNBC.

Speaking on the importance of the document signed, Vladimir Gusakov, the Chairman of the Presidium of NAS of Belarus noted that “signing of the Agreement provides great opportunities for extension of cooperation of scientific institution of the Academy of Sciences with one of the largest biotechnological corporations. This allows for more active implementation of the results of scientific activities by the scientists and address the issues of cooperation activization for a long term”. In return, Daniil Uritsky, the director of Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation, mentioned the importance of improved scientific support of the company’s activities in the main areas.
