NAS of Belarus to Represent More Than 40 Innovations and Technologies at Exhibition in Egypt

The NAS of Belarus will represent more than 40 innovations and technologies perspective for the Egyptian market at exhibition “Belarus – Egypt: Partnership for the Future” (Cairo, the Arab Republic of Egypt).

The Scientific and Practical Center of the NAS of Belarus for Material Science will demonstrate a standard modular integrated water treatment unit “Geoprofil”. It is intended for cleaning of underground source water from dissolved impurities (iron, manganese, muddiness, colour, hydrogen sulphide, ammonium salts, etc.). The unit can be installed on new or existing water supply facilities. All equipment is made from stainless steel. Full automation with data transfer through the Internet is possible. The scientists of the Scientific and Practical Center of NAS of Belarus for Material Science will also show a prototype model supercondenser on the basis of graphene-containing material. There is no analog to this development in the world.

The Scientific-Production Center for Multipurpose Unmanned Systems of the NAS of Belarus will demonstrate a wide range of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) of “Burkvestnik”, “Busel M40” and “Busel M50” types, a prototype of “Yastreb” unmanned aerial vehicle, as well as unmanned aerial vehicle on the basis of a dirigible. The UAV are intended for video monitoring of territories and objects, escorting of mobile objects from the unmanned aerial vehicle with a possibility of coordinate determination and transfer of the information obtained to a ground control station and other remote consumers through a radio channel.

The scientists of the Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the NAS of Belarus will represent biotechnologies for animal breeding, fish breeding, plant cultivation, foodstuff industry (high-quality products and feeds) at the exhibition in Cairo. These innovative technologies enable genetic tests of cattle and pigs, determination of species of fish of sturgeon, salmon, phytivorous families and their products by DNA testing, marker-assisted breeding of agricultural plants by resistance and quality genes, determination of genetically modified sources (GMS) in agricultural raw materials, foodstuffs, feeds and seed materials. The scientists will also demonstrate the advanced genetic technologies in healthcare and sports genetics.

The scientists from Belarus and Egypt have powerful scientific relations. The National Academy of Science of Belarus and Academy for Scientific Research and Technology of Egypt signed a cooperation agreement covering five research projects in plant cultivation, nanomaterials, molecular genetics, and metal science. These projects will also be shown at the exhibition in Cairo.
