On July 20, 2016 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Turkey Andrej Savinykh visited NAS of Belarus. The Ambassador told how the work with Turkish partners can be built, and listened to the proposals of cooperation made by leaders of academic enterprises. Savinykh noted that science in the Republic of Turkey is concentrated in universities and regional industrial parks. Turkish partners are waiting for projects ready for commercialization, so academic enterprises need to decide on the topics that may be of interest to both parties and to prepare commercial offers for cooperation. At present, cooperation in scientific sphere between the two countries is based on the Agreement between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Turkish Research Council for Science and Technology (TUBITAK), signed in 2002, as well as on the Scientific Cooperation Agreement between the National Academy of Sciences and the Turkish Academy of Sciences of 2009 year. Recently, there was a contest of new projects for the years 2016-2017.
