Collective monograph of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus "Behavioral strategies of consumers of cultural goods: values, interests, typology" was presented at the National Press Centre of Belarus. Scientists from the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Belarus have gained considerable experience in studying social and cultural preferences of the inhabitants of our country, which was embodied in this monograph. The scientific work edited by the Director of the Institute of Sociology, Doctor of Sociological Sciences Igor Kotlyarov was published in the Publishing House "Belaruskaya Navuka" in 2017. In March, the monograph was presented to the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Boris Svetlov.
Igor Kotlyarov drew attention to the fact that the book on which sociologists worked together with experts from the Ministry of Culture, deals with the dynamics of cultural orientations and strategies of socio-cultural behavior of the population of our country. The analysis allows preventing the break of traditions in society, as well as to update the various layers of cultural and historical memory.
This book is an integral part of a major sociological project with a provisional name "Civilization code of the Belarusian society". Within its framework three large representative studies which helped to identify factors influencing the development of the Belarusian society have been held in 2016. Culture is the most important element of this code. Leisure preferences, theatre arts, museum studies and musical preferences of the Belarusians are analyzed in the four parts of the work. Moreover, both sociological and expert analyses, a comparison of the figures of recent years are given in the book.
