On October 30 – November 3, 2017, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus holds the Additive Manufacturing Week. Scientists and specialists from the NAS of Belarus, relevant ministries and departments will consider the current state of additive technologies (3D technologies) and trends in their development in the Republic of Belarus.
On 31 October 2017, there will be a joint meeting of the Problem Council on Machine Building and Instrument Making, the Problem Council for Materials Research, the Department of Physical-Engineering Sciences of the NAS of Belarus, as well as of representatives from the Ministry of Education and other bodies of state administration. The meeting will discuss the issues of technological complexes of additive manufacturing of composite materials products. It will start at the NASB Presidium (praspiekt Niezaliežnasci 66, the Big Conference Hall) at 10:00 a.m.
On 1 November 2017, the Eighth Scientific and Production Seminar "3D Printers: Prospects for Application and Development", which will be a central event of the Week, will start its work at the State Scientific and Production Amalgamation of Powder Metallurgy of the NAS of Belarus (vul. Platonava 41, the Assembly Hall) at 9:30 a.m. An exhibition of products made by way of additive technologies will be presented at the Assembly Hall. These products are used in the aerospace industry, in manufacturing medical implants and tools, jewelry products and design objects, cooling systems for microelectronics. Anyone interested can familiarize with the exhibits and visit Laboratory No. 15 (a Section of Additive Technologies where the work of a 3D printer and a 3D scanner will be demonstrated), and Department of Research and Testing Materials (Test Center) from 10:30 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. At 12:00 p.m., one more event, namely a Round Table Discussion on the needs of organizations interested in additive technologies, will start its work.
On 2 November 2017, a meeting of the Republican Scientific and Technical Council for Additive Production will be held on the basis of the Department of Physical-Engineering Sciences of the NAS of Belarus. It will start at 9:30 a.m.
In addition, a number of scientific organizations will host open days on November 2-3, 2017.
