On February 24, 2016 the Chairman of the NASB Presidium Vladimir Gusakov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Belarus Masood Khan Raja. During the negotiations the parties emphasized the need for adjusting plans in the framework of agreements reached earlier.
V. Gusakov proposed to use the opportunities of the Belarusian Foundation for Fundamental Research for funding of selected projects, including those with the participation of young scientists. Researchers Training Institute of the NAS of Belarus is ready to admit Pakistani postgraduate students.
In his turn, Masood Khan Raja expressed interest in a visit of Belarusian scientists delegation to Pakistan to conduct workshops and lectures for Pakistani specialists.
The parties agreed that the next visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Belarus Masood Khan Raja to the NAS of Belarus will be held in March of this year.
It is planned to sign a Protocol on scientific cooperation, which will include specific areas of cooperation of mutual interest.
On May 24–27, 2015 a visit of the Chairman of the NASB Presidium V.Gusakov as a member of the State Delegation of the Republic of Belarus to Pakistan was held. During the visit, Agreement on Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Pakistan Academy of Sciences was signed.
On August 10–12, 2015 a visit of the Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to the Republic of Belarus was held. During the visit, the Memorandum of Cooperation between the NAS of Belarus and the Pakistan Council for Agricultural Research, the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of scientific cooperation between the NAS of Belarus and the Pakistan Academy of Letters, Memorandum of Understanding between the NAS of Belarus and the Institute of Information Technology of Pakistan were signed. Besides, organizations of the NAS of Belarus signed several Memoranda of Intent.
