On 23 May 2017, a press-conference on scientific support of chemical industry development, devoted to the Chemist Day, was held at the National Press Center of the Republic of Belarus. Representatives of some NASB scientific organizations participated in the press conference. In particular, Vladimir Agabekov, Director of the NASB Institute of Chemistry of New Materials, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, told about the topical developments of his Institute. Activities of the NASB Institute of Physical Organic Chemistry were reported by Tatyana Nevar, Deputy Director for Scientific and Innovative Work of the Institute.

The meeting also discussed the prospects of the entire industry. According to Vladimir Agabekov, chemistry in our country should be developed by creating the full cycle low-tonnage production. It will make it possible to achieve better results, and avoid dependence on external factors.
