For the first time in 16 years, Belarus will host a largest forum of specialists in titanium. On 19 April 2018 (Thursday), at 9:00 a.m., a grand opening of the 16th International conference «Ti-2018 in the CIS» will be held at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (praspiekt Niezaliežnasci, 66, large conference hall). In addition to the regular participants of the conference from the CIS countries (Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Belarus), the leading experts from Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Poland, China, Ireland, USA, etc. will also take part on the forum. In total, more than 200 people from 15 countries worldwide plan to take part in the conference. Representatives of the largest Chinese state aerospace company AVIC, the Titan Interstate Association, the National Research Center «Kurchatov Institute», the Moscow Aviation Institute, the E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Yuzhnoye Design Bureau (Ukraine), etc. will arrive in Minsk.

The Physical-Engineering Institute of the NAS of Belarus organizes the conference.

The International conference «Ti-2018 in the CIS» is traditionally held in different cities developing research of titanium and its alloys. It is a platform for discussion and exchange of views on international achievements and trends in the development of the titanium industry. On 18-21 April 2018, specialists plan to discuss the dynamics of the development of titanium application spheres, varying from medical to aerospace; application of titanium in 3D technologies; new achievements in the field of metallurgy of titanium and metal science; development of the raw material base of the titanium industry. The titanium and ferrotitanium market in the CIS countries and worldwide, as well as national programs for the development of the industry will be reviewed.
