Institute of Experimental Botany and Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve to hold conference "Flora and vegetation in a changing world"

The V. F. Kuprevich Institute of Experimental Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve will host an international scientific conference "Flora and vegetation in a changing world: problems of study, conservation and rational use" on 24-27 September 2019.

The conference will address the problems of the current state, conservation and rational use of biodiversity of the plant world since it is the plant component of biota that has the main role in the functioning of trophic chains in natural ecosystems. Conference participants will discuss various problems of biodiversity of the plant world to exchange new knowledge and research experience, to obtain additional information on achievements and research ways in this field, new approaches and methods for solving urgent problems.

The main conference directions:

  • Current state of floristic and phytocoenotic diversity, new methods for its study;
  • Anthropogenic and natural changes in flora diversity, invasive processes;
  • Sustainable use and reproduction of flora resources.

132 persons representing 30 research institutions, nature reserves, higher educational institutions of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine registered to participate in the conference.

Opening of the conference: 24 September 2019 (Tuesday) at 11:00; Institute of Experimental Botany of the NAS of Belarus, Minsk, Akademicheskaya St., 27 (conference hall, room 141).
