NASB representatives are among best in Republican Contest of Innovation Projects
A solemn ceremony of awarding winners and finalists of the Republican Contest of Innovation Projects was held at the Belarusian State Agrarian Technical University. The contest is arranged for the eighth time. This year, 178 applications are submitted for the contest, among them there are 70 projects nominated for the Best Innovative Project, and 108 projects nominated for the Best Youth Innovation Project. Among the contest participants there are projects developers, including teams of authors, from different educational institutions, NASB research institutes and centers, enterprises.
Belarusian polar explorers open season in Antarctica
Aleksey Gaidashov, Head of the Belarusian Antarctic Expedition (BAE), reported to the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on successful air transportation operation for unloading the BAE material and technical support and the beginning of the season in Antarctica.
Laureates of republican competitions, dedicated to Year of Science, announced
The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus summed up the results of republican competitions dedicated to the Year of Science. The NASB Presidium made a decision to hold republican competitions, dedicated to the Year of Science, in March 2017. The Year of Science competitions were held to support talented scientists of the Republic of Belarus; to promote development of domestic scientific schools, fundamental and applied science, high-tech research; to strengthen the interaction between science and different branches of the economy, social sphere; to ensure sustainable economic development of our country; to develop innovative activities in the Republic of Belarus.
NAS of Belarus Prizes 2017 awarded
The Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus summed up the results of the competition for the prizes of the NAS of Belarus in 2017. The NASB Commission on Prizes decided to award seven prizes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, three prizes in the field of Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physical and Technical Sciences; three prizes in the field of Biology, Chemistry, Medicine, Agrarian Sciences and Earth Sciences; and one prize in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences. The size of the prize is 250 base values.
National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry sign Agreement on Cooperation
Vladimir Gusakov, Chairman of the NASB Presidium, and Vladimir Ulakhovich, BelCCI Chairman, signed an Agreement on Cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry at a solemn meeting of the BelCCI Presidium.
The Agreement aims at cooperation of the parties in order to develop business relations, expand intra-republican and foreign economic relations, increase business activity, provide competitive positions and promote products in the domestic and foreign markets.
Second Congress of Scientists of Republic of Belarus starts its work
The Second Congress of Scientists of the Republic of Belarus started its work in Minsk. 2,600 people, including foreign guests, attended the largest scientific forum of our Republic. Delegates from all regions of Belarus, and well-known scientists from the Union State, the CIS countries, leading foreign academies of sciences, world research organizations and centers are present at the Congress. On the first day, nine program sections work on the main directions of scientific development and international cooperation. Among them, there is also a youth section. The sections work at the NASB organizations, as well as at organizations of other ministries and departments. A meeting of the Council of the International Association of Academies of Sciences (IAAS) and a meeting of the Advisory Council on Intellectual Property Protection and Technology Transfer under IAAS takes place at this time. Each of the nine sections provides a thematic exhibition.
Press conference on preparation and holding of Second Congress of Scientists of Republic of Belarus held
On 5 December 2017, a press conference on preparation and holding of the Second Congress of Scientists of the Republic of Belarus was held at the National Press Center of the Republic of Belarus. The event was attended by Vladimir V. Gusakov, Chairman of the NASB Presidium; Sergei A. Chizhik, First Vice Chairman of the NASB Presidium; Aleksandr V. Kilchevskiy, Chief Scientific Secretary of the NASB Presidium; and Valery V. Goncharov, Director of the Center for System Analysis and Strategic Research.
NASB team wins first place at Composite Battle World Cup
The team of the Scientific and Production Center of Multipurpose Unmanned Systems of the NAS of Belarus participated in the second Composite Battle World Cup, held in the Chinese city of Xi'an on November 20-24, 2017. The Composite Battle World Cup is a competition among teams of engineers and technologists in the production of composite products. The competition is conducted internationally from 2016 in accordance with the standards of the World Skills International organization. Sixteen teams from Russia (3 teams), China (8 teams), Australia, Egypt, Myanmar, Belarus and Ukraine participated in the championship. The participants of the championship were to calculate the design, develop the technology, create and test the finished product from composite materials with their own hands on the site. Their task was also to achieve the best indicators of economic, operational and strength characteristics of the product.
