Declaration of International Symposium "Integration of Belarusian Scientists into Research Programs of Leading International Nuclear Physics Centers" adopted
The International Symposium "Integration of Belarusian Scientists into Research Programs of Leading International Nuclear Physics Centers" completed its work at the NAS of Belarus. Within three days, more than 100 scientists from Belarus and abroad discussed current problems of international research in the field of elementary particle physics, high energy, nuclear physics, astrophysics, etc.
During the opening ceremony of the Symposium, the International Center for Relativistic Astrophysics ICRANet Minsk was officially opened and the founder of the ICRANet Center Professor Remo Ruffini (Italy) delivered a public lecture.
NASB announces Republican contests dedicated to Year of Science
The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus announces the Republican contests dedicated to the Year of Science in 2017 in the following categories: "The best scientific work in the field of basic research"; "The best scientific work in the field of applied research"; "The best scientific work in the Humanities"; "The best scientific work of young scientists"; "The best scientific development"; "The best publication about science."
Session of NASB General Meeting finished
Today the Session of the General Meeting of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has finished its work. Representatives of academic, university and branch science, as well as young scientists of the country took part in it. Aleksandr Kilchevsky, the NASB Corresponding Member and Chief Scientific Secretary presented a report on the activities of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in 2016 and the tasks set for 2017. Academician Sergei Chizhik, the First Vice Chairman of the NASB Presidium, presented a report on amendments and additions to the regulations on elections of members of the NAS of Belarus, and other topical issues.
Session of NASB General Meeting to take place on April 27, 2017
On April 27, 2017 (Thursday) at 10:00 a.m., the Session of the General Meeting of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the supreme collegiate governing body of the Academy of Sciences, will be held in the Big Conference Hall of the Academy of Sciences (66 praspiekt Niezaliežnasci, Main Building). About 500 representatives of academic, university and branch science, as well as young scientists of the country will take part in its work. The session will consider the prospects for the development of the NAS of Belarus and all the scientific sphere of the Republic of Belarus for 2017 in accordance with the objectives set by the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the meeting on problems and prospects for the development of Belarusian science held at the NASB on April 7, 2017.
NAS of Belarus Wall of Honor updated
On April 26, 2017 the solemn opening of the updated Wall of Honor of the NAS of Belarus and the installation of the NASB first President Usievalad Ihnatoŭski bust took place.
In accordance with the Decree of the Bureau of the NASB Presidium No. 157 of March 30, 2017 a number of scientific institutions were recognized as winners and brought to the NASB Wall of Honor for achieving the best results in scientific, technical, innovative, and productive activities of the NAS of Belarus in 2016.
NASB Institute of Applied Physics invites to open scientific seminar on two-dimensional radiographic images
On April 26, 2017 at 10.00 a.m. an open scientific seminar will be held at the assembly hall of the Institute of Applied Physics of the NASB (16 Akademičnaja vul., 4th floor). The report on the topic "Restoration of 2D Radiographic Images via Constrained Energy Minimization Techniques" will be presented by Stanislav N. Charizanov, chief assistant of the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (IICT) of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

On April 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. the International Symposium "Integration of Belarusian Scientists into Research Programs of Leading International Nuclear Physics Centers" will start its work at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (the building of the NASB Presidium, Minsk, 66 praspiekt Niezaliežnasci, Big Conference Hall).
At the beginning of the conference, the International Center for Relativistic Astrophysics ICRANet Minsk will be officially opened and the founder of the ICRANet Center Professor Remo Ruffini (Italy) will deliver a public lecture.
NASB management and staff take part in Republican Subbotnik
On April 22, 2017 the management and staff of the NAS of Belarus took part in the Republican Subbotnik at the Central Botanical Garden of the NAS of Belarus. Representatives of the NASB Presidium, various institutes and scientific and practical centers of the NAS of Belarus headed by the Chairman of the Presidium Vladimir Gusakov planted trees, cleaned the territory of the Botanical Garden and looked after the seedlings. This year representatives of the Council of the Republic of Belarus headed by Vladimir Semashko and Vasily Zharko, representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus headed by Aleksandr Popkov, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs worked side by side with the Academy’s staff.
Council of Young Scientists of NASB organizes Young Scientist School "Turnkey Scientist-2017"
From May 29 to June 2, 2017 the NASB Council of Young Scientists will organize the Young Scientist School "Turnkey Scientist-2017."
The "Turnkey Scientist-2017" school is a short intensive cycle of lectures, seminars, master classes, practical classes and round tables of leading scientists of the NAS of Belarus and invited lecturers for undergraduates, graduate students and young scientists on the issues that are necessary for successful and effective work in science.

The NAS of Belarus announces competitions to select executives of initiatives of the State Program "High Technologies and Equipment" for the years 2016-2020, approved by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of April 21, 2016 No. 327 of subprogram 1 "Innovative Biotechnologies – 2020."
Constituent conference of Republican Public Association "Belarusian Philosophical Society" held at Institute of Philosophy of NASB
On April 11, 2017 the Republican scientific conference "Belarusian Philosophical Society: Past and Present" was held at the Institute of Philosophy of the NASB. It gathered leading philosophers of the NASB, representatives of Philosophy and Humanities departments of different Minsk and regional universities of Belarus. During the conference, topical mechanisms for the development and popularization of philosophical knowledge, organization of scientific and humanitarian discussion as well as the implementation of new research and publishing projects were considered. The welcoming speech of the Chairman of the NASB Presidium Academician Vladimir G. Gusakov and the introductory report of the Director of the Institute of Philosophy Anatoly A. Lazarevich drew attention of the audience to these topics. In their speeches, they both noted the key role of philosophical knowledge in the country's intellectual culture dynamics and touched upon the issues of popularizing the national philosophical heritage as well as the actual results of the country's philosophical schools.
Conference on problems and prospects of Belarusian science development held with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko
On April 7, 2017 a conference on the problems and prospects of the Belarusian science development was held with the President of the Republic of Belarus at the NAS of Belarus.
Before the event, Alexander Lukashenko studied attentively the exhibition of scientific and technological achievements, presented in the hall of the National Academy of Sciences. The President drew particular attention to innovations in the field of energy, industry, space technologies, biotechnologies, and also inquired about the effectiveness of practical implementation of the developments. About 40 organizations have presented their latest developments in such fields as industrial technologies and energy; information and space technologies; additive technologies and nanoindustry; defensive capacity and security; biotechnologies, medicine and pharmacy. In total, the exposition included about 150 exhibits.

Representatives of NAS of Belarus awarded State Prizes of Belarus 2016
The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed the Decree "On awarding State Prizes of the Republic of Belarus for the year 2016". Representatives of the NAS of Belarus are among the awardees.
The employees of JSC “Integral”, OJSC “Planar”, and the representatives of the NAS of Belarus Sergei Grabchikov and Sergei Chizhik have been awarded the prize for the development and organization of industrial production of export-oriented microelectronic products for dual and special purposes, based on the development of modern design methods, semiconductor technologies and high-precision analytical and assembly equipment.
