Summary: Main directions of foreign economic strategy improvement, in compliance with the concept of Export Development Program of the Republic of Belarus for 2006-2010, are formulated on the basis of the analysis of Byelorussian export competitiveness factors. Main idea: there is a need for transition from separate competitiveness strategies to development of external economic cooperation and forming of a system of stable international economic ties. The article suggests approaches of how to solve this task in the spheres of foreign trade in commodities and services, investments, scientific and innovative cooperation. Perspectives of currency alliance with Russia and relation between the Republic of Belarus and the WTO are examined.
