Effect of ferrocuprate LàÂàÑuFå5+d cationic composition on its properties. pp. 11--15

Summary: The cationic nonstoichiometry influence on the structure, thermo- and electrophysical properties of the layered lanthanum-barium ferrocuprate has been studied. It has been found that unit cell and thermal expansion coefficient of LaBaCuFeO5+d decreased with intersubstitution of iron and copper and increased with intersubstitution of lanthanum and barium. The inter substitution of both A- and B-cations in the LaBaCuFeO5+d structure decreases the sample conductivity due to charge transport energy increase in -(Cu, Fe))O2-- layers of the lanthanum-barium ferrocuprate.

The effect of low-molecular weight electrolytes on rheological behaviour of clay- saline dispersions treated by polyañrylamide flocculants. pp. 16--20

Summary: Rheological behaviour of clay-saline suspension treated by various acrylamide polymers has been studied. It has been shown that the suspension rheology substantially depends on the conformation state of polymer macromolecules in saline media as well as on conditions of suspension treatment by polymers. Interactions between cationic acrylamide co-polymer and clay surface have been studied by IR spectroscopy methods. It has been found that adsorption of cationic polyelectroly-te on clay surface in saline medium significantly depends on the intensity of electrostatic interactions among system components.

On sorption properties of carbon, carbon-mineral, clay-hydroxide and clay-oxide adsorbents. pp. 21--24

Summary: Sorption of iodine, methylene blue, benzoic acid and Pb2+ by carbon, carbon-mineral, clay-hydroxide adsorbents has been studied. It has been shown that sorption capacity of carbon adsorbents prepared by template synthesis, is considerably less than of BAC carbon. Clay-hydroxide adsorbents have sorption capasity by Pb2+ similar to many synthetic and natural inorganic adsorbents. It has been found that adsorbents obtained can be used successfully in many sorption processes for purifying materials from inorganic and organic impurities.

Complex binding agent for regulation of potassium chloride structurization process. pp. 25--29

Summary: The effect of complex binding additives' chemical properties and their stability in saline media on efficiency of structurization process in salt disperse systems based on potassium chloride, has been investigated. It has been shown that using complexes based on film-forming polymers, oligomers and surfactants, with certain proportion of components, increases sample strength by 40--50%, as compared with the most effective applications of initial components. The reason of this sinergy is stabilization of the complex in the saline medium, reactivity increase and wettability improvement of potassium chloride surface.

Solid oxide galvanic cell with dissociated oxygen. pp. 42--46

Summary: EMF temperature dependence has been investigated for galvanic element with separated gas space where one electrode was opened to air and the other electrode was exposed to atomic or molecular oxygen beam. Abnormal EMF values below 700 K in case of platinum electrode were probably caused by platinum oxide formation under atomic oxygen impact. The procedure for calculation of atomic oxygen recombination coefficient on different conducting surfaces has been proposed.

Ion-exchange extraction of L-isoleucine by dinonyl-naphtalenesulfonic acid. pp. 47--50

Summary: It has been established that branching of the side chain of L-isoleucine does not affect L-isoleucine cation interaction with sulphonic acid group of the extractant, as demonstrated by virtually identical values of equilibrium coefficient (Ile+ --H+), and affects water sorption by inversely micellar HD solutions, resulting in water content increase in HD solutions with isoleucine.

Preparation of oxide iridium-titan electrodes. pp. 51--55

Summary: Influence of temperature, time of heating and iridium content in the active layer on electrocatalytic activity of oxide iridium-titanic electrodes during oxygen evolution in 0.5 M sulfuric acid has been studied. It has been found that the greatest activity of oxide iridium-titanic electrodes is achieved with the following parameters: temperature of final heat treatment 450 °C, time of heat treatment -- 25 minutes. Under these conditions, high electrocatalytic activity of coatings and complete decomposition of hexachloroiridium acid (confirmed by the absence of chlorine peaks in X-ray photoelectronic spectrum) are provided. It has been determined by X-ray photoelectronic spectroscopy, that iridium in the active coating is in oxidized, mainly tetravalent, state.

Tralkoxydime influence on the activity of soluble and immobilized enzyme couple "glucose oxidase -- horseradish peroxidase)) in water-organic medium. pp. 62--69

Summary: The tralkoxydime effect on the activity of soluble and zinc hydroxide-adsorbed enzyme couple of glucose oxidase Aspergillus niger and horseradish peroxidase (HRP) has been studied. Tralkoxydime and organic solvents together increased free and immobilized enzyme couple activity in the oxidation of b-D-glucose and tetramethylbenzidine (TMB). Activating effect of the tralkoxydime on the enzyme couple is determined by the pesticide action on soluble and immobilized HRP activity. Efficiency of enzyme couple activation depends on the organic solvent/pesticide ratio. It has been shown that minimum concentration of tralkoxydime to have some activating effect for the glucose oxidase -- HRP couple in solution, containing 10% of 1,4-dioxan, is 0.05 mM.

Antioxidant activity of cycloderivatives of methylsubstituted phenols -- analogs of a-tocopherol. pp. 70--77

Summary: The comparative study of the inhibited oxidation of o-phenylenediamine (PDA) and 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine has been carried out at 20 °C in "pseudoperoxidase" (PPS) and peroxidase (HRP) - systems in the presence of five cycloderiva-tives of methyl-substituted phenols (CDMP I--V) and a known analog of a-tocopherol -- 2,2,5,7,8-pentamethylchroman-6-ol (PMC). The inhibition constants Ki, M or the inhibition degree in percents at maximum concentration of an antioxidant were used for the quantitative characterization of antioxidant activity for all inhibitors. In the PDA inhibited oxidation in PPS, the PMC was most active (Ki 0.88 • 10-4 M and 0.42 • 10-4 M in HRP-system). The antioxidant activity of CDMP I--III on the PDA oxidation in PPS was comparable with the PMC efficiency and characterized by Ki values (1.31--1.44) • 10-4 M. The methyla tion of the HO-groups in CDMP IV and V decreased strongly the antioxidant activity of these compounds.
