Modelling of temperature fields in microprotrusion under friction. pp. 719--725
Summary: The temperature fields, arising during friction, have been modelled for the problems of the thermal conductivity with limited conditions of the second kind. The mathematical transformations which allow to present the problems solutions in analytical form in terms of Wiener integrals have been proposed. The application of these models to calculation of the maximum temperature on the contact spot surface has been shown.

Temperature of the frictional hot spot, moving along the thermalsensible carbon graphite basis. pp. 726--732
Summary: An iterative method is to determine the quasi-stationary temperature field, associated with frictional hot spot, moving on the half-space surface is proposed. It is assumed essential temperature dependence of the thermal properties (thermal conductivity and specific heat). Presented are dependences of the contact temperature on the Peclet number and heat flow distribution for the carbon graphite half-space material.

The direct estimation of a friction force in the method of the damped pendulum oscillations. pp. 733--737.
Summary: The traditional most sensitive test method for the friction coefficients estimation by the measuring the amplitudes of free decaying pendulum oscillations fails to determine the real force-velocity relation. The new method for the direct estimation of the pendulum friction force is offered. This method may be much more simple and accurate than the first one. Also the new simple and rather accurate method for estimation of the period of frictionless oscillations of a damped pendulum is offered. The both methods may be carried out during one-two oscillation cycles. The experimental results are described. They prove the reality of this methods. Some of this results conflict with the traditional oscillation theory deductions.

Theoretical and experimental evaluation of optimum conditions in epilamated friction units. pp. 764--768
Summary: The experimental results evidence to a high effectiveness of the epilamen treatment in increasing wear resistance of tribomechanical systems. Investigations in this field should be conducted with the purpose of improving and obtaining more precise mathematical model that describe the kinetics of the epilamen film wear.

Optimization of hoist operation at removing a string from well with friction. pp. 773--781
Summary: Problem of optimization of hoist-string-well system with its tribological parameters is solved. The principles of optimization are generalized to example of vertical well without the force of friction, which then were distributed to process of removing the string with friction. Rod effort in the case of removing the string from well with friction is considered. The number of problems connected with the friction of flexible thread to curue lined profile is met in the oil industry, for examle in research of liffing and dropping operations, friction and wear of pipes and others. Given mathematical model has a great practical significance.

Theoretical basics of calculation of optimum assembling clearance between compression ring and bottom of groove of piston of engines. pp. 787--798
Summary: One of the reasons of decreasing the reliability and deterioration of vibration and acoustic performance of engines is inadequate clearance between compression ring and bottom of piston groove. This decreases quality of grinding, causes scratching, increases speed of wearing the working parts of cylinder and the ring. This also increases vibration and noise of engines. In this work equation is derived for calculating necessary and real clearance in system "compression ring--groove". Also, conditions for calculation of optimum assembling clearances in this system during producing and repairing of engines are shown as well.

Thermofrictional properties of molybdenum disulfide intercalated by heterocyclic compounds. pp. 799--801
Summary: The decrease of the coefficient of friction of intercalation compounds of MoS2 with 1,10-phenantroline (phen)0,1 MoS2, (phen)0,3MoS2, and 2,2'-bipyridyl (bipy)0,2MoS2 was observed when the temperature are close to the melting point of intercalant. In the case of (phen)0,3MoS2 this results in exeptionally low friction (f ~ 0.02) at 100--200 °C. The great thermofrictional stability of IC-1 (up to 320 °C) and IC-2 (290 °C) was found. The influence of an orientation of guest molecules on the frictional properties of intercalation compounds is discussed.

Antifriction aluminum-lead alloys for sliding bearings. pp. 802--809
Summary: With the aim of designing new antifriction materials having high operating characteristics we have studied the structure and properties of Al--Pb alloys by a magnetohydrodynamic method. The properties of the Al--Pb alloys were compared with those of commercial materials by examining aluminum- and tin-based alloys, namely, AO20-1 and AO6-1. It has been found that the experimental alloys on the base of aluminum and lead possess, under optimal electromagnetic processing regimes, a homogeneous fine-disperse structure. They have been shown to have good mechanical properties. Their antifriction characteristics exceed the corresponding characteristics of commercial alloys. Recommendations are given for the use of Al--Pb alloys as promising materials for sliding bearings.

Structure and phase composition were studied before and after friction. The appearance of chromium nitride was registered parallel with the increase of oxygen concentration in the surface layers of chromium coatings. The friction character has been studied and a scheme of the processes accompanying the wear has been suggested.
