Summary: Properties of cutting plates from a hard WC--Co alloy system, implanted with metal-gas mixed ion beams are investigated. Valuation of influence of a impurity migration on wear resistance of modified hard alloys is given.

Summary: Studies were made of wear of hard alloys modified by high-current electron beams. Wear has been studied at high-temperature cutting. Cutting speed ranges with minimal wear were found. Structural transformations in surface layers of alloy WC--TiC--Co were studied.

Influence of temperature wear of cutting tools and on permissible speed of cutting. pp. 498--504
Summary: Studies were made in the effect of temperature on the section of stagnant zone on wear of cutting tool. Wear rate of tool is shown to depend on surface temperature distribution. Mathematical models are given relating the wear rate to cutting conditions.

Summary: Method is discussed of optical patterns recognition. This method provides high precision of stress evaluation in a contact of friction surfaces and outside contact.

Summary: The solution and the algorithm have teen obtained for calculating the friction temperature and heat fluxes in the tribosystem. The tribosystem contains a thrust ring and cylinder. Data obtained can be used in design and analysis of thrust seals.

Effect of metal additives to diesel oil on wear of engine parts. pp. 535--539
Summary: The results of the research into the influence of ultradisperse metal additives to engine oil upon the wear of cylinder-piston group parts of diesel engine are presented. For comparative analysis diesels working with pure M14B2 engine oil and oil with copper additives and combined ones were exploited. According to the results of spectral analysis the speed of wear products concentration increase in the oil, and hence the wear rate increase. Analysis of the influence of additive presence in engine oil upon wear of some diesel parts has been performed.

Bench for testing rolling bearings. pp. 540--543
Summary: An original design of a bench for experimental investigation of rolling bearings is described. The design comprises a radial loading unit presented as an elastic ring with either constant or variable section. Location of rolling bearings in a sealed case allows to carry out experimental tests both in various media and in vacuum.

The influence of alloy additives on tribological behavior of fused metal. pp. 544--546
Summary: The research illustrates the influence of alloy casting flux on wear resistance and hardness of fused layer. It has been established that the properties of fused metal can be predicted by graphic presentation of factor experiment.

Improvement of tribologic properties of metal-polymer cylinder--piston group. pp. 547--549
Summary: Tribosystem of cylinder--piston with polymer coating is considered. Nonabrasive treatment of cylinders by ultrasonic mandrelling is shown to improve their tribological properties.
