Summary: The treatment of collective fruit with epibrassinolide (EB) and naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) influence on formation of bottom leafs of red beet over the regulation of growth and development its individual compounds. NAA inhibited the cotyledons atrophy processes and evoked the activation of the growth and of the first forming leafs development. EB activated the atrophy of the cotyledons. Assumed that this is one of the factor of increase of red beet's productivity.

The influence of the growth regulators on barley plants (Hordeum vulgare L.) under swadr-podzolic light-loamy soils. pp. 23--26
Summary: On sward-podzolic light-loamy soils the treatment of barley crops by epin has assisted in more intensive accumulation of dry matter during vegetation, and increased grain yield by 3.6 hwt/ha on the background of N60P40K60. Under influence of the growth regulators ecoflazh the barley yield increased by 2.5 hwt/ha. The emistim hasn't provided reliable grain yield increase in comparison with background. The studied growth regulators didn't exert positive influence on the yielt of total protein in barley grain. Using epin and ecoflazh encourages more intensive use of nutrition elements and allows the decrease in use of mineral fertilazes under barley to 30%.

The impact of brassinosteroids on morphophysiological and biophysical indexes of flax seedlings (Linum usitatissimum L.). pp. 41--43
Summary: It was found that brassinosteroids (brassinolid, epibrassinolid, homobrassinolid, BS-214, kastasteron) in concentrations 10-12 --10-6 M were able to stimulate the functioning activity of root proton pumps. The content of photosynthetic pigments and the growing values of linseed and fiber flax seedlings were on the level of untreated controls. The efficiency of the effects induced by brassinosteroids depended on their chemical nature, concentration and plant genotype.

The changes in glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase activity in human erythrocytes at oxidative stress in vitro. pp. 54--56
Summary: Activity of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogcnase in human erythrocytes was investigated at oxidative stress caused by hydrogen peroxide and t-butyl hydroperoxide. It was shown, that the activity of the enzyme depends on a nature of acting agent -- was increased at the action on the cells 0.25--0.75 mM H2O2 and was reduced after t-butyl hydroperoxide treatment of cells. The decrease of SH-groups membrane proteins was observed in both cases. The received data is indicative on the fact, that the activity of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase in human erythrocytes can be controled by the change of a structural condition of membranes.

Changes in content and activity of sapropel deposits in Sergeevskoje and Sudobl Lakes depending on bedding depth. pp. 69--73
Summary: Structure and properties of bedding sediments are non-uniform and change depending on bedding depth, that is defined mainly by conditions of accumulation sediments in time; by transformation of organic substance of deposits at the formation of sapropel deposits; by migration and redistribution of chemical elements at the expense of gradients of a moisture and the concentration of substance. Before using of excavated sapropel for the agricultural purposes it is necessary to carry out a tentative estimation of its biological activity, to allocate the most productive horizons, which should be developed by selective methods using the appropriate equipment.

The 11-desoxi PGE analogues as potential cytogastroprotector substances. pp. 88--91
Summary: The influence of 13 new synthesized modified prostaglandins on experimentally induced acute ulcers in C3H mice and Wistar rats as well as on the motor function of small intestine in ICR mice was studied. Prostanoids with modifications at cyclopentanic fragment were shown to have mainly specific (antiindomethacinic) effect, while prostanoids with protected 9-ketogroup made only non-specific protective influence on stomach mucosa. Compounds X, XI, XIII were characterized by different ratios of the specific and non-specific effects. Isoxazoloprostanoids V and VI had no sufficient cytogastroprotective activity. It was found out that most of the studied prostanoids decreased the rate of the transfer of contrast mass along small intestine, while compounds I, II, VI, VII enhanced the motor function of small intestine in mice.

The structure of the small mammal communities (Rodentia, Insectivora) as victims of vertebrate predators under the variety of ecosystems in the northern Belarus. pp. 99--110
Summary: Variation of structure of the small mammal communities inhabited the variety of ecosystems in the northern Belarus (Gorodok and Polotsk districts, Vitebsk region) was studied. The habitat differences revealed and seasonal changes in the small mammal communities were marked, while the found year-to-year fluctuations were less pronounced than those in both the more southern deciduous forest and boreal coniferous forest. Forest ecosystems, marshes and open waterless valley habitats were characterized by the highest differences in structure of the small mammal communities. Pine forests were inhabited by the poorest diversity of small mammals, whereas their communities were the most diverse and dense at wetlands. Considerable differences between diversity and density of small mammals at the sandy landscape on the Polotsk lowland and the clay landscape on the Gorodok height were found. Respectively, in pine forests at the lowland was characterized by much lower density and diversity of vertebrate predators than those at the height. The structural relationships between the small mammal community and vertebrate predator association were analyzed as well as feeding impact of the naturalized American mink on the riparian voles and their native consumers was described.

Social and psychological factors when realizing radiation risk. pp. 131--135
Summary: In the experiments with mice of Af line, irradiated by gamma-radiation with the dozes of up to 1.0 Gr and subjected to psycho-emotional effect (the model of "the provoked aggression") have been investigated the processes of tumour formation. The index of cancerigenic efficiency of effects is the number of the induced adenomas in lungs. It has been shown that under separate effect of these factors the frequency of adenomas increases Under the combined effect the additional number of adenomas per mouse is registered, which exceeds theoretically the expected value assuming additivity of effects, the synergism coefficient was 1.57 (for females). It has been marked that the character of tumour reaction on separate and the combined effect of radiation, as well as the stress-factor has sex distinctions. It has been shown that the real assessment of the radiation risk and the development of the measures system on minimization of medical and biological consequences of the accident should take into account not only the radiation factor, but also a psychological one, especially in those cases when realization of the risk of the combined effect of radiation and non-radiation factors can manifest by synergism.
