At present the Presidium consists of the Chairman of the Presidium, four Vice Chairmans of the Presidium, the Chief Scientific Secretary, six Academician-Secretaries (Heads of the Departments of the Academy) and other members of the Presidium. The Presidium carries out the decisions of the General Meeting of the Academy and, in a period between sessions of the Meeting, supervises over all activities of the Academy. Being accountable to the Meeting, the Presidium reports General Meeting of the Academy on major decisions accepted. For decision of current scientific-organizational tasks, the Presidium of the Academy creates a Bureau consisting of the Chairman of the Presidium, Vice Chairmans of the Presidium and Chief Scientific Secretary.
