LOBANOK Leonid Mikhailovich

Leonid Mikhailovich Lobanok (b. 11.09.1943, v. Slobidka, Lyuban district, Minsk region - 04.04.2021), a scientist in the field of physiology. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1996), Doctor of Medical Sciences (1990), Professor (1993).

Main works are devoted to gerontology, radiobiology, physiology. Ideas about the dynamics in ontogenesis of the contractile function of the heart, its neurohumoral regulation, development of adaptation mechanisms to the factors accompanying aging were created. The peculiarities of the effects of ionizing radiation depending on the dose and its power in the heart, blood vessels, cardiomyocytes, vascular smooth muscle cells, blood cells, plasma membranes are revealed. The regularities of changes in the central and peripheral mechanisms of regulation of the cardiovascular system at different stages of the post-radiation period are established. The results of studies of radio-modifying properties of compounds of natural origin served as the basis for the creation of food additives and special purpose products. Showed the role of nitric oxide in the regulation of the functional state of the heart and blood vessels under the action of stress on the body, massive doses of catecholamines, hypoxia, ionizing radiation, determined the general principles of the modification of regulatory systems when the pre-pathological and pathological conditions occur.
