NAS of Belarus Presented 25 Innovative Projects in Final “100 Ideas for Belarus”

The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus demonstrated 25 innovative projects in 8 nominations from 18 scientific organizations at the exhibition and to the Republican Expert Council in the finals of republican youth innovative project “100 ideas for Belarus” on May 2-3, 2020. These projects reflect main areas of activities of the NAS of Belarus. 5 projects of young scientists of the NAS of Belarus became winners in the competition.

The winners were:

  1. Sergei Alexandrovich, the researcher of “Energy Safety” laboratory, the Institute of Energy of the NAS of Belarus – project “System of energy supply for innovative residential building on the basis of use of electrical energy and secondary energy resources” (nomination “Energetics, including nuclear power and energy efficiency”);
  2. Anna Bareiko, the researcher of the laboratory of molecular diagnostics and biological control of phytopathogenic microorganisms, the State Scientific Institution Institute of Microbiology of the NAS of Belarus – project “PCR-based diagnostics of fungal and bacterial diseases of vegetable crops” (nomination “Agricultural and industrial technologies and production”);
  3. Vitaliy Merinov, the Junior Research Associate, Anastasia Tuleiko, the Junior Research Associate, Timur Akhmetov, the Institute of Mechanics of Metal-Polymer Systems n.a. V. Belov of the NAS of Belarus, BMZ, OAO – Management Company of BMK Holding – project “Use of steelmaking waste to obtain import-substituting tribotechnical composite materials” (nomination “Industrial and construction technologies and production”);
  4. Oksana Timokhina, the Junior Research Associate of the laboratory of immunology and cell biophysics of the State Scientific Institution Institute of Biophysics and Cell Engineering of the NAS of Belarus – project “Technology of banking of allogenic dendritic cells for use in oncological disease treatment” (nomination “Healthcare, pharmacy, medical equipment”);
  5. Ksenia Borodina, the Junior Research Associate of the laboratory of applied biochemistry of the State Scientific Institution Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the NAS of Belarus – project “Peptide neuroprotector with antidepressive and anxiolytic activity” (nomination “Chemical technologies, petroleum chemistry”).

“100 Ideas for Belarus” is a republican competition organized by Public Association Belarusian Republican Youth Union. Its aim is to promote innovative thinking of the youth, involvement of young people in solution of tasks of social and economic development of the Republic of Belarus, stimulate citizens' initiative for implementation of innovative projects and scientific and technical developments.
