X International scientific and practical seminar for students, master’s degree and postgraduate students, teachers and workers with Forest Management specialty

On the 5th - 9th of October, 2020, State Scientific Institution Institute of Experimental Botany Named After V.F. Kuprevich of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus with the participation of State Nature Protection Institution Naračansky National Park will held the X International scientific and practical seminar for students, master’s degree and postgraduate students, teachers and workers with Forest Management (Forest Science) specialty. The seminar’s subject will be “Dynamics, condition and monitoring of forest ecosystems on designated conservation area”. The seminar is dedicated to the Year of Small Motherland in the Republic of Belarus.

The aim of the event is to strengthen scientific relations, to develop and expand relations between the youth, scientists and professionals in Forest Management (Forest Science) specialty of academies of sciences and leading higher educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus and cross-border region, to exchange experience, to develop joint projects and contribute to ecological education for this specialty.

During the seminar, scientific and practical activities will be organized on the territory of the Naračansky National Park and Maladziečna Forestry of Minsk State Production Forestry Association, where participants will be shown the practices of principal and intermediate felling, sanitary and corrective activities, and other forest management activities, as well as genetic selection objects of the Naračansky National Park. They will visit water and forest vegetation monitoring stations, objects for monitoring of protected plant species, specific categories of rare biotopes and/or those confined to unique natural complexes (on the territory of the Naračansky National Park). The seminar will involve review of proposals and discussion of joint projects planned for submission to various funds and state programs (including those of the Union State), as well as perspectives and results of joint grant implementation.

The seminar’s results will be consolidation of efforts, experience and knowledge of the scientists, teachers, and experts in assessment of limitation and prohibition efficiency regarding the designated conservation area and specific plant objects.

42 people representing 13 scientific research institutions, higher educational establishments of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Republika Srpska, Russia and Ukraine have registered for participation in the seminar activities. Representatives of Belarusian organizations will attend the event, while it will be organized as a video conference for the scientists from other countries.
