GROMYKO Victor Aleksandrovich

Victor Aleksandrovich Gromyko (01.01.1923 - 10.07.2019), a painter. Honorary Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2000), Professor (1981). Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus (1970). People's Artist of Belarus (1991). Member of the Great Patriotic War.

Works in easel painting in the genres of picture, landscape, portrait. The theme of the Great Patriotic War is widely reflected in his work. Major works: paintings "Soldiers" (1967), "1941. Above the Pripyat" (1970), "Dedicated to the women of the Great Patriotic War" (1972), "Song of my squad" (1978), "Apples of the harvest of 1941" (1987 ); portraits of Ya. Bryl (1968), Commissioner A.F. Yuriev (1982), V. Bykov (1984); landscapes "Flaxes of Belarus" (1970), "July smells of herbs" (1990), "Above the old trenches - silence" (1995), etc. His works are in the National Art Museum of Belarus, the Museum of Modern Fine Arts in Minsk, the Mogilev Regional Art Museum Museum named after P. Maslennikov, the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.

Awarded with the Order of Francisk Skaryna (2013), the medal of Francisk Skaryna (1996).
