The Staff of the National Academy of the Sciences of Belarus is a division of the Academy of Sciences, which undertakes organizational and administrative work on ensuring the realization by governing bodies of the Academy of Sciences functions. Accordingly to the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus" and the Statute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Academy Staff consists of structural units established for the preparation and execution of decisions of the Chairman of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences and governing body of the Academy of Sciences, and is subordinated to the Chairman of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences.

For purposes of ensuring the realization by the Academy of Sciences of the functions of the highest state scientific organization of the Republic of Belarus, as well as certain functions of the republican state authority, the Academy Staff has the following main objectives:

the organization of implementation and participation in the implementation of decrees, ordinances and orders of the President of the Republic of Belarus, the decisions of the Government of the Republic of Belarus, other legal acts on scientific activities, regulations of the General Meeting, Presidium, and Bureau of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences, orders, resolutions and instructions of the Chairman of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences, and also conduct ongoing monitoring of their fulfillment;
the operational and qualitative preparation of draft documents of the Chairman of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences and governing bodies of the Academy of Sciences;
the systematic analysis of state of certain issues of activities of the Academy of Sciences, the identification of vital problems and preparation of relevant proposals on this basis;
the material-technical and organizational support of activities of governing bodies of the Academy of Sciences, as well as measures carried out by them.

The NAS of Belarus Staff renders the methodical, information, consultative, organizational and other assistance to the Academy of Sciences organizations in ensuring their activities, and realizes other measures to enhance the effectiveness of the Academy of Sciences activities. At present it consists of the departments and divisions, headed by the chiefs, the staffs of departments of the Academy of Sciences, headed by the Academician-Secretaries of the Department of the Academy of Sciences, the Honorary President of the Academy of Sciences, advisers and consultants of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences, which carry out commissions of the Chairman of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences and the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences.
