KOVALEV Mikhail Yakovlevich

Mikhail Yakovlevich Kovalev (b. 28.11.1959, Godylevo, Bykhov District, Mogilev Region) - a scientist in the field of informatics. Corresponding Member (2017), Professor (2004), Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences (1999).

Scientific works in the field of information methods and technologies for solving problems of logistics, optimal planning, design and management. Developed general schemes for constructing efficient approximate algorithms for optimization problems, theory of scheduling work execution in batches, methods for solving industrial and transport logistics problems, general approaches to establishing the computational complexity of tasks, algorithms for determining the linear structure of DNA molecules, dispatching multiprocessor computing systems, dynamic price control.

Author of more than 250 scientific papers, including 2 monographs, 1 textbook.

Lenin Komsomol Prize of Belarus (1990) for the work "Combinatorial algorithms for solving problems of optimal planning and design." State Prize of the Republic of Belarus (1998) for the series of works “Models and Methods of Scheduling Theory”. Prizes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus: for the monograph “Schedule Theory. Group technologies"(2001), in the nomination "The most quoted author" (2010).

Awarded with the Francisk Skaryna Medal (2015).
