Alexander Vladimirovich Vorobey (b. 06.07.1955, Krasny Bereg, Zhlobin district, Gomel region) - a scientist in the field of surgical gastroenterology, coloproctology and endoscopy. Corresponding Member (2014), Doctor of Medical Sciences (2000), Professor (2003). Honorary Doctor of the Lviv National Medical University (2011). Excellence in Healthcare of the Republic of Belarus (2004).
He created experimental models of a number of surgical diseases of the abdominal cavity organs and their pathogenesis, which made it possible to scientifically substantiate and put into practice new algorithms for the diagnosis and surgical treatment of many diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, mediastinum and retroperitoneal space, some of them with world priority. He developed a scientific concept for the system of surgical and medico-social rehabilitation of ostomy patients, which for the first time in the CIS was successfully implemented in 1996 throughout the Republic of Belarus. Conducts research on the development and implementation of new laser surgical technologies in abdominal surgery, phlebology and endoscopy.
Author of more than 450 scientific papers, including 16 monographs and practical manuals, 22 educational and teaching manuals, 34 patents.
Awarded with the Medal "For Labor Merit" (2013).
