KOLOVANDIN Boris Andreevich

Boris Andreevich Kolovandin (21.01.1938, Arkhangelsk - 07.06.1998), a scientist in the field of mechanics. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1994; corresponding member since 1989), Doctor of Engineering Sciences (1984), Professor (1986).

Research in the field of modern theory of turbulent transfer processes. He developed mathematical differential models that describe the statistical parameters of turbulent heat and mass transfer in fluid flows, which made a significant contribution to the creation of methods for mathematical modeling of turbulent transfer processes. Under his leadership, innovative methods of navigating high-speed hydrodynamic objects and ways to reduce their hydrodynamic resistance were developed.

Author of more than 170 scientific papers, incl. 4 monographs, 35 inventions.

Prize of the Council of Ministers of the USSR in 1982 for applied work on this issue.

Awarded with medals.

Major papers:

  1. Моделирование теплопереноса при неоднородной турбулентности. Мн., 1980.
  2. Modellistica della turbolenza. Metodi di fluidodinamica numerica. Napoli: CUEN, 1981 (with Meola C., Di Blasi C.).
