KOZLOV Nikolai Semenovich

Nikolai Semenovich Kozlov (17.05.1907, Tver, Russia – 04.04.1993), chemist. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1966), Doctor of Chemical Sciences (1935), Professor (1933). Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RSFSR (1965).

The main work on the synthesis of organic compounds and the study of the mechanism of action of heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysts. He proposed methods for producing heterocyclic compounds, quinoline synthesis (Kozlov reaction), participated in the development of chloroprene rubber synthesis, synthesized new physiologically active substances, cyanine dyes, antistatics for polymers. Developed the reaction of hydroamination of organic substances with new nitrogen compounds.

Author of more than 700 scientific papers, incl. 7 monographs, 98 inventions.

State Prize of the BSSR in 1984 for the development of new catalytic methods for the synthesis of nitrogen-containing organic compounds.

Awarded with the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1967), Friendship of Peoples (1977), "Badge of Honor" (1961), and medals.
