LOPATO Georgy Pavlovich

Georgy Pavlovich Lopato (23.08.1924, v. Ozershchina, Rechitsk district, Gomel region – 13.02.2003), a scientist in the field of computing and computer science. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1995), Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1979), Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1991), Doctor of Engineering Sciences (1976), Professor (1980). Member of the Great Patriotic War.

The main works in the field of development and implementation in the computer industry of the family "Minsk", the computer of the Unified system and personal computers based on microelectronics, as well as the creation of computer complexes and systems, peripheral equipment for computers, the production of hardware and computer-aided design methods Chief Designer of the Minsk-1 computer, the Minsk-222 computer system, the Naroch shared-use system, a number of mobile computers, and special-purpose computer systems.

Author of more than 120 scientific papers and 46 inventions.

State Prize of the USSR in 1970 for the creation of a family of universal computer computers of the second generation of the type "Minsk" and the development of their serial production.

Awarded with the Order of the October Revolution (1971), the Red Banner of Labor (1976), Lenin (1983), "Badge of Honor" (1966), and medals.
