MANAK Nikolai Andreevich

Nikolai Andreevich Manak (20.06.1943, v. Semezhevo, Kopyl district, Minsk region - 01.03.2017), cardiologist. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2009), Doctor of Medical Sciences (1993), Professor (1995). Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus (2007).

The main scientific studies are devoted to chronic ischemic heart disease, diagnostics issues, elucidation of pathogenetic mechanisms, development of differentiated and individualized treatment methods, rehabilitation technologies, prognosis of disability. For individualized selection of drug therapy has developed a method of screening antianginal drugs using acute pharmacological test under conditions of exercise stress and dosed walking. Performed the original development of pain sensitivity, meteozavisimosti and meteoprophylaxis, vertebrocardiac syndrome, the development of tolerance to organic nitrates, especially the development of angina in women in different phases of menopause, sinus node dysfunction.

Author of more than 300 scientific papers, including 5 monographs, 6 copyright certificates.

Awarded with the Francisk Skaryna Medal (1997), other medals.
