MARTSELEV Stanislav Viktorovich

Stanislav Viktorovich Martselev (01.01.1925, v. Sharibovka, Buda-Koshelev district, Gomel region – 22.09.2003), historian. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1980), Doctor of Historical Sciences (1972), Professor (1992). Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus (2000). Member of the partisan movement in Belarus during the Great Patriotic War.

In monographs and articles summarized research on the birth of the party-Soviet press in Belarus, its development and role in the life of the people. In the monographs "To the spiritual flourishing: Historical experience in the development of Belarusian Soviet culture" (1974), "Artistic culture of Belarus at the present stage" (1978) and many other publications have reflected the historical experience and patterns of development of the Belarusian culture of the post-October period. One of the organizers of the creation of the 7-volume (in 8 books) "Collection of monuments of history and culture of Belarus" (1984-1988), one of the authors and editor-in-chief of the 6-volume "History of Fine Arts of Belarus" (1987–1994).

Author of over 300 scientific papers, incl. 9 monographs.

State Prize of the BSSR in 1990 for the "Code of monuments of history and culture of Belarus".

Awarded with the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1967, 1971, 1976), World War of the I degree (1985), "Badge of Honor" (1962), medals.
