PILIPOVICH Vladimir Antonovich

Vladimir Antonovich Pilipovich (05.01.1931, v. Sloboda, Mozyr district, Gomel region – 02.04.2018), physicist. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1980; Corresponding Member since 1977), Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences (1972), Professor (1977). Honored Scientist of the BSSR (1978).

Investigated solid-state optical quantum generators, active and passive pulsed modulators of the Q-factor of resonators, the interaction of high-power radiation with condensed media, proposed methods for determining radiation losses during the generation process, established a relationship between the parameters of stimulated radiation and molecular properties of phototropic media. He studied the anisotropy of stimulated emission of solutions of organic compounds, the dynamics of single-pulse generation, developed a holographic memory device, elements and devices for optical information processing methods.

Author of about 400 scientific papers, incl. 3 monographs.

State Prize of the USSR in 1985 for the research of liquid crystals for optical information processing. State Prize of the Republic of Belarus in 1996 for the series of works "Phenomena of anisotropy in lasers and principles of polarization laser spectroscopy".

Awarded with the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1981), medals.
