RATKO Anatoly Ivanovich

Anatoly Ivanovich Ratko (10.09.1950, v. Dolgoe, Soligorsk district, Minsk region – 20.11.2011), chemist. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2000), Doctor of Chemical Sciences (1993).

Scientific works in the field of colloid chemistry, the study of sorbents and sorption processes. He developed a colloid-chemical basis for the synthesis of co-precipitated adsorbents with a developed porous structure and high thermal stability. He proposed methods for the formation of the porous structure of solids in the presence of organic and inorganic modifiers. He developed ideas about the mechanism of structure formation of semi-synthetic adsorbents with a layered-column structure and carried out a directional modification of layered aluminosilicates with polyhydroxy complexes of metals and their mixtures, investigated the influence of the nature and amount of hydroxo-complexes, calcination temperature on the adsorption-structural, physicochemical, and catalytic properties of the hydroxocomplexes, the calcination temperature on the adsorption-structural, physicochemical, and catalytic properties and the synthesis properties of the hydroxo-complexes. The revealed patterns of formation of the porous structure of solids in the presence of organic and inorganic nature modifiers made it possible to use in practice compounds for the manufacture of semiconductor and thermocatalytic gas-sensitive sensors in display devices and measuring the concentration of various gases, adsorbents for cleaning liquid food products and water from radionuclides, heavy metals, etc.

Author of over 220 scientific papers, incl. monographs, 53 inventions.

Prize of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences named after academician V.A. Koptyug (2005).
