Georgy Ivanovich Sidorenko (р. 21.08.1925, Kiev – 30.09.2014), cardiologist. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1996; corresponding member since 1974), Doctor of Medical Sciences (1969), Professor (1970). Honored Scientist of the BSSR (1985). Honored Inventor of the BSSR (1990). Member of the Great Patriotic War.
Major works on the problems of cardiology, medical cybernetics and instrument making. He developed methods for individualizing medical procedures, automating emergency analysis of cardiological information, and analyzing cardiovascular information with the help of universal computers. Created devices for automated biocontrolled diagnostics and therapy of cardiovascular diseases, participated in the creation of a new generation of drugs of cardiovascular action.
Author of about 850 scientific papers, incl. 10 monographs and 165 inventions.
State Prize of the Republic of Belarus in 1996 for the series of works "Creation of new methods and equipment for the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases based on microprocessor and computer technologies".
Awarded with the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1975), World War of the I degree (1985), Fatherland of the III degree (2000), medals.
