ZALUTSKY Iosif Viktorovich

Iosif Viktorovich Zalutsky (v. Mumishki, Postavy district, Vitebsk region, 05.09.1950 – 13.06.2018), oncologist. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2004). Doctor of Medical Sciences (1994), Professor (2000).

Scientific research is aimed at the development and introduction into clinical practice of methods for diagnosing, treating and rehabilitating patients with cancer. Examines the possibilities of reconstructive and reconstructive operations as the leading link in the medical rehabilitation of patients with cancer. He put into practice the idea of ​​performing organ-preserving radical operations in patients with tumors of the musculoskeletal system, soft tissues, head and neck. As a result of his research, it became possible to return to social and work activities of patients with secondary lymphedema of the upper extremities after the combined and complex treatment of breast cancer, pharyngostomas for laryngeal tumors, to close defects with extensive radiation ulcers. In recent years, conducts research in the field of epidemiology, prevention and early detection of tumors.

Author of more than 300 scientific and methodological works, including 7 monographs, 17 patents.
