Nursultan Äbishuly Nazarbayev (р. 06.07.1940, v. Ushkonyr, Almaty region, Kazakhstan) - statesman and public figure. Foreign Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1996). The works are devoted to the problems of formation and strengthening of economic independence, deepening economic reforms and establishing market relations in Kazakhstan, radical transformation of property relations and preserving a single economic space as a condition for overcoming the crisis in the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other CIS countries. He developed the problems of development of Kazakhstan as a sovereign state, the concept of a socially oriented market economy, structural and investment policy, directions and models of rational resource saving as the basis for increasing the economic potential of the republic. He substantiated the key directions of the state policy in the area of ​​consistent reform in all spheres of economic, social and public life, strengthening the statehood of Kazakhstan.

International Prize named after Maimonides (2004, Israel) for his outstanding contribution to the dialogue among civilizations.
