Team of Belarusian and Siberian Scientists Becomes Laureate of Academician Koptyug Prize 2020

The team of Belarusian and Siberian scientists became a laureate of Academician Koptyug Prize 2020 for set of works “Management in resource saving technologies by inheritance of properties and ensuring quality of product materials and surfaces”. The Presidium of the NAS of Belarus made such a decision today, on the 29th of May, 2020, during its meeting.

The Belarusian laureates are Sergei Chizhik, the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NASB, Academician, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor; Tatiana Kuznetsova, Deputy Head of Nano-Processes and Technologies Laboratory of the Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer named after A. Lykov, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor; Vladimir Borodavko, the General Director of NPO Centre, OJSC; Mikhail Heifets, the Director of the Institute of Applied Physics of the NASB, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor; Nikolai Gretsky, the Head of Scientific and Technical Program and Project Sector of NPO Centre, OJSC.

The Russian scientists awarded the prize include Anatoly Bataev, the Rector of the Novosibirsk State Technical University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor; Andrey Panin, the Head of Surface Phenomenon Physics Laboratory of the Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science of Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor; Alexey Kolmakov, the Leading Research Associate of the Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science of Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Technical Sciences; Andrey Krechetov, the Rector of the Kuzbass State Technical University n.a. T. Gorbachev, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor; and Valery Blumenstein, the Professor of the Machine Building Technology Chair of the Kuzbass State Technical University n.a. T. Gorbachev, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.

Fundamental results of activities of the Siberian and Belarusian scientists are extensively used for design, production and operation of high-load equipment for extraction of hard commercial minerals in northern Siberia and processing of mineral raw materials in Belarus (NPO Centre, OJSC of the NASB), for long-term operation, maintenance and repair of heavy-load quarry machinery in Kuzbass (KuzGTU n.a. T. Gorbachev), for manufacture of devices and development of methods of material and surface structure analysis in Belarus and Russia (the Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer n.a. A. Lykov of the NASB), for analysis of operating life reduction and prevention of critical part destruction (the Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science of Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences), as well as for development of nanotechnologies, materials, medical devices and special-purpose devices (the Novosibirsk State Technical University).
