On September 8, 2022, the signing ceremony of the Agreement between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. (PRC) on the establishment of the Representative Office of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in Beijing took place. The ceremony was attended by: from the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus – First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus S.A. Chizhik, Head of the Main Department of the International Scientific and Technical Cooperation of the Office of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus V.V. Podkopaev, Head of the Sector for the Development of Cooperation with China of the Office of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus T. V. Lugovaya, Head of the Department «Republican Center for Technology Transfer» of the State Scientific Institution «Center for System Analysis and Strategic Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus» A.A. Uspensky; from JSC «Chinese Corporation of Engineering SAMS» – General Director Li Haixin, Director of the Department for the Management of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park of JSC «China Corporation of Engineering SAMS», Head of the Contact Department of Zhongguancun in Belarus Liu Jiadan, Director of the Department for the Development of Science and Technology of JSC «Chinese SAMS Engineering Corporation» Sun Wei, Deputy Director of SINOMACHBEL LLC Hu Bo; from the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Belarus – scientific and technical adviser Zhang Ju and first secretary Yang Junke.

The main purpose of the Agreement is to support from both sides the process of commercialization of the developments of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in the Chinese market. As part of the activities of the Representative Office, which will operate on the territory of the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, it is planned to prepare joint projects in advanced areas of scientific activity: new energy sources and energy saving, engineering and construction technologies, production of high-tech equipment, environmental protection and resource processing, precision instruments and sensors, integrated circuits, biomedicine, information technology, new materials, optics, as well as the expansion of commercial applications of science and technology. It also provides for the conclusion of contracts for the performance of the certain types of the organizational work by the Belarusian organizations. On the Belarusian side, the Center for System Analysis and Strategic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is appointed as the responsible organization for the implementation of the Agreement.
