On September 14, 2022, the National Press Center of the Republic of Belarus hosted a press presentation of the new edition of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus «Riga treaty 1921 and Belarus» (on the 100th anniversary)», timed to coincide with the Day of National Unity. The speakers at the event were: Pavel Trubchik, Academic Secretary of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Sergei Tretyak, Head of the Department of Contemporary History of Belarus of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and Valentin Mazets, Leading Researcher of the Department of Contemporary History of Belarus of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

As Pavel Trubchik, scientific secretary of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, stressed during a press presentation, the publication of the collection is a symbolic event: «In a few days we will celebrate the anniversary of the unification of Western Belarus with the BSSR. And this is a very important event. That's why we're holding this event». Sergei Tretyak, Head of the Department of Contemporary History of Belarus at the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, in his speech emphasized the fact that if it were not for the events of 1939, during which Belarus was reunited, the course of the Great Patriotic War could have been different: «If these territories had not returned, then would become under the control of the Third Reich. And then the war in Belarus would have acquired a different character. Like a clash with fascist and anti-fascist followers in the territory». Valentyn Mazets, a leading researcher at the Department of Contemporary History of Belarus, called the partition of Belarus an act of historical injustice. At the same time, according to him, the reunification made it possible to create the foundation for the formation of the Belarusian statehood.
