On December 26, the heads of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus also joined the republican action Our Children. Chief Scientific Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vasily Gursky, Chairman of the United Branch Trade Union Organization of Workers of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Ivan Baranovsky, Chairman of the Trade Union Committee of the Apparatus of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Deputy Academician-Secretary of the Department of Chemistry and Earth Sciences Vladimir Levashkevich, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Stanislav Yuretsky visited the pupils of the sponsored organization SOS – Baraŭliany Children's Village. They congratulated the children on the New Year and presented them with sweet New Year gifts. Ivan Baranovsky, on behalf of the trade union of the Academy of Sciences, handed over a certificate for 600 rubles. The guests not only congratulated the children on the upcoming New Year holidays, but also told about what scientists are doing, invited them to participate in academic events, in particular, in the Science Festival.

Every year, during the New Year's republican charity event Our Children, heads of ministries and other public administration bodies, local authorities, representatives of public organizations visit boarding schools and family-type homes, custodial and foster families, families that raise disabled children, correctional and developmental training and rehabilitation centers, hospitals. They wish the children a Happy New Year, Merry Christmas and give gifts, provide assistance in solving problems. The current promotion will last until January 15.
