On December 28, a festive visiting meeting of the Bureau of the Department of Physical and Technical Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was held at the premises of the Institute of Powder Metallurgy named after academician O. V. Roman, at which preliminary results of the work of organizations in 2022 were summed up. Awards were given to the best. Academician-Secretary Sergey Shcherbakov noted that the organizations of the Department have fulfilled, and most of them have exceeded the planned indicators of social and economic development. There is a significant increase in the volume of work performed under business contracts over 110% for the Department as a whole, and for some organizations about 185% of the planned indicators of 2022.

In the outgoing year, the Academy of Sciences was tasked with solving the issues of replacing critical imports in the current sanctions conditions. The organizations of the Department coped with the task at a high level, which already by the end of 9 months was reflected in a significant increase in the volume of work performed by the NAS of Belarus to replace critical imports in the interests of the industry of the Republic of Belarus (163.3% compared to the same period in 2021).
