On January 5, 2023, a press conference on the topic «Patriotic values in the mind of modern Belarusians» was held in the Press Center of the Press House. Speakers from the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus at the event were: Nikolay Myslivets – Director of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Associate Professor; Evgeny Novitsky – Researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus; Tatiana Novitskaya – Junior Researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The scientists spoke about the methodology of studying patriotic values in Belarus and presented the results of a social research devoted to the study of the formation peculiarities of patriotic values of the country’s inhabitants. Within the framework of this research, respondents answered questions about what it means to them to be a patriot and a citizen of Belarus, about the most significant state symbols and holidays of the country and about the sources of influence on the formation of population’s patriotic feelings.

This social research was conducted in August — September 2022. More than 1,500 people were interviewed among various groups of the population of Belarus by gender, age, education and location.
