On May 12, 2023, a delegation of educational institutions and scientific organizations of the Republic of Zimbabwe headed by the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Prof. Amon Murvira, visited the NAS of Belarus.

During the meeting with the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Sergei A. Chizhik, the parties identified a number of promising areas for further cooperation: space technologies, new materials, technologies and complexes for processing mineral raw materials and ores, agro-industrial complex, training of scientific personnel, etc. An agreement has been reached to sign a Memorandum of Intent in the near future.

The guests from Zimbabwe got acquainted with the directions of scientific activity of the organizations of the Academy of Sciences during a visit to the permanent exhibition Achievements of National Science for Production.

The delegation expressed gratitude to the leadership of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for the warm welcome and fruitful negotiations and expressed wishes for the intensification of joint work to achieve mutually beneficial scientific and technical results.
