The III International Forum of Researchers of the Belarusian Fairy Tale and Mythology was held in the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The event was attended by scientists from Belarus, Russia, Poland, Estonia, Abkhazia. On May 18, 2023 at the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library the grand opening took place. Alexander Kovalenya, Academic Secretary of the Department of Humanities and Arts of the NAS of Belarus, Alexander Lokotko, Director of the Center for the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Researches of the NAS of Belarus, and Irina Driga, Head of the Main Department of State Special Cultural Events and Professional Art of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, made welcoming speeches. A welcoming speech from the Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov and a congratulatory address from the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Anatoly Markevich were read out. The Musical Chapel of the Center for the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Researches performed in front of the visitors. An exhibition of illustrations based on folk tales, on art projects that have won republican contests as well as on book publications was demonstrated. Within the framework of the Forum, the participants discussed the state and features of the fairy tale tradition in modern society, the development of the literary fairy tale and its interaction with the folklore, the interpretation of folk tales and myth in the visual, theatrical, musical, screen art and media space. An open round table Modern Literary Fairy Tale: Between Fiction and Truth was also held.

On May 19, 2023, a round table Belarusian Mythology: From Authenticity To Mystifications was held, a screening and discussion of Belarusian animated fairy tale films took place. Master classes on crafts were also organized for visitors: stuffing and making birds out of straw. In the Central Scientific Library, the Forum participants were addressed by masters of the fairy-tale genre: Lyudmila F. Glukhatarenko (Sanyuki village, Jelski district), Alexander N. Galkovsky (Sudzily village, Klimavicki district), Lilia P. Rezkina (Viciebsk), Ekaterina A. Panchenya (Plastok village, Zhytkavicki district), Natalia V. Prus (Prudok village, Mazyrski district) and Ivan F. Suprunchik (Cierablichy village, Stolinski district). The results of the children's contest of the Belarusian folk tale performers were summed up, the winners and participants of the contest were awarded diplomas and prizes from the partners of the forum: the company Belgosstrakh and the Minsk Watch Factory Luch, the Mastatskaya Litaratura Publishing House.
