On May 31, a delegation of the Kunshan People's Government headed by Vice Mayor Sun Yun visited the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Sergei A. Chizhik, Academic Secretary of the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics of the NAS of Belarus Alexander G. Shumilin, Head of the Sector for the Development of Cooperation with the People's Republic of China of the Main Directorate of International Scientific and Technical Cooperation of the Apparatus of the NAS of Belarus Tamara V. Lugovaya, Deputy Director General of the Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Materials Science Oleg V. Ignatenko, Head of the Department Republican Center for Technology Transfer of the Center of Systems Analysis and Strategic Studies of the NAS of Belarus Alexander A. Uspensky. During the meeting, the Chinese side presented information about the city of Kunshan and promising areas for cooperation in the field of information technology, biomedicine, mechanical engineering, new materials, etc.

Following the meeting, an Agreement was signed between the People's Government of Kunshan and the NAS of Belarus on the comprehensive deepening of scientific and technical cooperation for 2023–2025 and an Agreement on cooperation in the field of composite materials development between Suzhou Mengying Electronic Technology Co. Ltd. and the Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Materials Science.
