Scientists of the NAS of Belarus took part in the First Russian-Belarusian Forum of Historians, which was held in Moscow on June 2–3, 2023 on the basis of the Russian State University for the Humanities. More than 100 researchers from different regions of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus took part in its work.

At the invitation of the organizers, the conference was attended by the heads of scientific organizations of the Academy of Sciences: Vadim Lakiza, Director of the Institute of History, Nikolai Myslivets, Director of the Institute of Sociology, Marat Zhilinsky, Rector of the University of the NAS of Belarus and Stanislav Yuretsky, Director of the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library. The scientists analyzed the ancient history of the two peoples, consecrated the periods of the Belarusian lands being part of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union, paid attention to the modern history of Russia and Belarus, discussed teaching history at school and ways to popularize historical knowledge in the information environment.

The plenary session of the First Russian-Belarusian Forum of Historians was attended by Chairman of the Russian Historical Society Sergey Naryshkin and State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, who presented concrete results of cooperation between Russia and Belarus in the scientific, educational and cultural spheres.
