On June 5, 2023, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov presented the Grand Medal of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to Sergey Gaponenko, Director of the Institute of Physics named after B.I. Stepanov of the NAS of Belarus, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor, Academician, for many years of fruitful scientific and organizational activities, significant contribution to the development of physics of nanoscale structures, condensed matter optics, nanophatonics and in connection with the 65th anniversary of his birth.

Vladimir Gusakov expressed gratitude to Sergey Vasilyevich for his contribution to the development of science and wished him success in his new position as the Head of one of the leading scientific organizations of the Academy of Sciences.
