Scientists of the NAS of Belarus were awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The high title was awarded to academicians Pyotr A. Vityaz and Alexander A. Mikhalevich. Pyotr Vityaz is the Head of the Department of Space Activities of the NAS of Belarus, Chief Researcher of the Laboratory of Nanostructured Materials and Superhard Materials of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy Technologies of the United Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the NAS of Belarus, an outstanding scientist in the field of development of new materials, technologies and mechanical engineering, a talented leader and science and production organizer. Alexander Mikhalevich is the Head of the Energy Security Laboratory and Scientific Director of the Institute of Energetics of the NAS of Belarus, a major specialist in the field of thermophysics and energetics, Honored Power Engineer of the Republic of Belarus.
