The International Scientific Conference Microbial Biotechnologies: Fundamental and Applied Aspects was held in the NAS of Belarus on June 6–9, 2023.

More than 240 well-known and young researchers, specialists in the field of microbiology and biotechnology, representatives of biotechnology companies from the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, the United States of America, China, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan took part in the events of the forum. Experts assessed the current state and prospects for the development of microbiology and biotechnology.

The conference presented information about the latest achievements and global trends in the field of fundamental and applied microbiology, modern approaches to the biological products creation for agriculture, industry, medicine, environmental protection, discussed prospects for the effective transformation of inventions into innovations and the introduction of high-tech biotechnologies in the real sector of the economy.

The conference program included more than 80 oral and 100 poster presentations in 5 sections: Physiology, Biochemistry and Genetics of Microorganisms, Biotechnology for Agriculture, Microbial Synthesis of Biologically Active Compounds. Genetic Engineering of Microorganisms. Collections of Microorganisms, Biotechnologies for Medicine and Industry, and Environmental Biotechnologies. Within the framework of the conference, the II Congress of Microbiologists of Belarus, a round table Towards a Green Economy Through Biotechnology were held. There was an exhibition of domestic and foreign biotechnological products, where the latest world-class developments for agriculture, industry, ecology, healthcare and other spheres were presented.
