Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Igor Petrishenko gets acquainted with the archaeological excavations results of the settlement on Mienka

On July 12, 2023, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Igor Petrishenko got acquainted with the results of archaeological excavations in the area of an ancient settlement on the Mienka River near Minsk, conducted by scientists of the Institute of History of the NAS of Belarus together with students of Belarusian universities. The complex was also visited by Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Alexander Kilchevsky, Academic Secretary of the Department of Humanities and Arts of the NAS of Belarus Alexander Kovalenya, Director of the Institute of History of the NAS of Belarus Vadim Lakiza, representatives of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture.

A detailed acquaintance with the work progress and the found artifacts from different centuries, an inspection of the excavations took place.

Last year, archaeologists placed a bet on searching in this area and did not lose: only this year, during an incomplete archaeological season, the most interesting artifacts were found: arrowheads, small clay pots, fragments of ceramic products and jewelry, knives, coins, ancient trade seals and much more.
