On July 27, 2023, the National Press Center of the Republic of Belarus hosted a press conference on New Agro-Industrial Technologies: the Contribution of Belarusian Scientists to the Agriculture Development. The event was attended by: Dmitry I. Komlach – Director General of the Scientific and Practical Center of the NAS of Belarus on Agricultural Mechanization, Alexander I. Budevich – Deputy Director General for Scientific Work of the Scientific and Practical Center of the NAS of Belarus on Livestock, Dmitry V. Luzhinsky – Deputy Director General for Science of the Scientific and Practical Center of the NAS of Belarus on Agriculture, Andrey I. Tchaikovsky – Deputy Director General for Scientific Work of the Scientific and Practical Center of the NAS of Belarus on Potato and Fruit and Vegetable Growing, Dmitry A. Zaichenko – Deputy Director General for Scientific and Innovative Work of the Scientific and Practical Center of the NAS of Belarus on Food.

Representatives of the scientific and practical centers of the Department of Agrarian Sciences of the NAS of Belarus told about the latest developments of scientists in the field of agro-industrial technologies.

Dmitry Komlach, Director General of the Scientific and Practical Center of the NAS of Belarus on Agricultural Mechanization, noted: "Providing the population and our Republic with high-quality and affordable food, increasing export potential is the main task of the agricultural industry, the solution of which largely depends on the technical and technological production level, the effective use of modern mechanization means, the introduction of new methods and techniques performing agricultural work. The main emphasis in the agricultural production development should be placed on the more efficient use of innovative developments, the transition to the precision agriculture and precision livestock farming concept, which will give the opportunity to increase the productivity of varieties and breeds of livestock close to their biological potential."

Dmitry Luzhinsky, Deputy Director General for Science of the Scientific and Practical Center of the NAS of Belarus on Agriculture, told about new varieties of agricultural plants. Of these, it is possible to note the winter triticale of the grain-fodder direction "Medeo" with a yield of up to 100 quintal / ha.

Andrey Tchaikovsky, Deputy Director General for Scientific Work of the Scientific and Practical Center of the NAS of Belarus on Potato and Fruit and Vegetable Growing, identified the main task of the scientific organizations of the Center as the scientific support of the supervised branches of crop production. One of the priority areas is the availability of a wide range of varieties of agricultural crops both for fresh consumption and for the raw materials production for processing enterprises.

Alexander Budevich, Deputy Director General for Scientific Work of the Scientific and Practical Center of the NAS of Belarus on Livestock, shared the most significant developments and promising projects in the field of livestock farming.

Dmitry Zaichenko, Deputy Director General for Scientific and Innovative Work of the Scientific and Practical Center of the NAS of Belarus on Food, told about the products development for baby food, the technologies creation and the production of dietary, preventive and special purpose food.
